Back in my College days (early 80s), we used to go for long runs in Everglades National Park. I remember running Shark Valley but that’s all paved. Lots of gators though. I don’t know where they got the name shark valley because certainly no sharks. We used to run gumbo limbo trail and anhinga trail. But often we wondered off trail. The areas we went too aren’t what you expect for the Everglades. Mostly it was areas that had long leaf pines and pretty dry ground.
