How to float down the trail – great video

We have mentioned a video on YouTube a few times that shows Tony Krupicka’s effortless running form.  We thought we should share it for all to enjoy.

I love this song too.  Anybody know how I can get it?  It’s not on ITunes.

  • Krupicka’s form appeared too mechanical to me at first. But then I realized that he avoids overstriding by simply focusing on picking up his feet. The more he focuses on the lift, the less he appears to be deliberately placing each step. This is evidently the barefoot runner’s mantra, and it’s what allows Krupicka and others to run (and to want to run) in such pared down NB Minimus shoes. So I guess that’s my thinking-out-loud way of saying that his running form is mechanical, but it’s proper and efficient mechanics.

Pat I think you have a keen eye for body mechanics. Break your analysis down for me.

      1. Avoids overstriding by simply focusing on picking up his feet.

      2. Focuses on the lift, the less he appears to be deliberately placing each step.

How many steps do you think he takes per mile using this form vs someone his same height with a more traditional gait?

Anyone is free to chime in on any portion of this…… I like this kind of discussion.
